BACOLOD CITY is known to be the City of Smiles, and it
says, people here were friendly by nature and the “Ilonngos” are the
sweetest and loving community.
Well, if you want to go to this City it is best to plan
ahead and maybe a 3-day stay is sufficient to make a remarkable visit of it’s famous tourist spots. My friends from here suggested to see The Ruins, San Sebastian Church, New Government City and Museum or get an overnight stay at Mambucal resort and trek to Mambucal falls, and the best time to visit is during Masskara Festival which is observed every October
However, what are you going to do if you 're coming here is just a spur-of-the-moment and you only got
12-hour?
It was said, I am
only in Bacolod for a side trip because my real destination is from Iloilo City
to Cebu. Yes I already
have a flight booked to Cebu but at the last minute I’ve changed my itinerary
to get the experience of STARBUCKS BACOLOD, that is in pursuit of my goal to visit Starbucks Store
in the entire Archipelago.LOL (you may read my coffee stories by clicking
here) At the same time, I planned to
meet an online friend Jet, which is from this place to get to know her in person.
From Iloilo is just an hour ride by a Ferry to Bacolod and
from the pier you can take a cab to bring you to whichever destination you have
in mind. Don’t worry on where to spend the night for the Internet will
give you a lot of good place and Google earth will navigate you
towards it. A wise choice is a
place where it has easy access to your pre-determined destination.
WHAT TO DO WITH A 12
– HOUR STAY?
I arrived here at 4pm and going to the ruins is not
possible anymore, so Jet suggested that we only see the New Government City of
Bacolod, San Sebastian Church and of course Starbucks.
Jet and i set to met at 8pm at the Lagoon and she instructed me how to get there, good thing is from my place I can just take a walk going there.
I arrived earlier than our time set and while waiting, i walked around, seeing some students
practicing a dance cheer, lovers, passersby, bystanders and Korean nationals
who were like me were maybe waiting for time to pass by. I also got the chance to get a little view of the Provincial Capitol which is just across from where i stood where i also enjoyed watching the Tilapia feeders.

When Jet arrived we proceeded immediately to New Government City and make some photo shoot, after that we
agreed to go to Starbucks and skipped going to
Cathedral as it’s getting late already.

At Starbucks, we stayed until 12 midnight and from there
they walked me through my place and waved goodnight to each other. It was such a nice meeting after all.
I have to take a rest by then, because I have a byland trip
to Cebu at 4am with the Ceres Transport. I took the San Carlos route so i was able to view some sugarland in this part of Negros.
That’s it! A 12-hour keeps in Bacolod. Surely, I will plan
a comeback though not too soon and this time I will make the most of my trip.
See you in my Next destination. :)
